The Courthouse Quarter supports safety, health, digitalisation and new ways of working
We supplied both façade glass and glass for the interior wall. Glazing of the facade was carried out by

We supplied, among other things, 3K EI60 fire-resistant glazing elements, which also required P6B class fire-resistant glazing. The structure for that requirement was 3K P6B / 4mm S1N / Pyrobel 25 EI 60 – and they took up about 60 m2. Another façade structure we supplied also required P6B noise control glass, plus good sound insulation. That structure was realized with 3K P6B / 4 mm S1N / 8,8 mm phon S1N. These glasses covered about 50 m2.
The interior fittings were carried out by Sisärakenne Kukkola Oy (Inlook Oulu). The interior glazing used soundproof laminated 1K -glasses e.g. 8.8 mm phon, 10.5 mm phon and 12.8 mm phon laminated glasses. Also 2K elements went into the internal fittings as the requirement for the glasses was Rw 48db sound insulation. That was done with a 2K 8.8 mm phon / 12.8 mm phon construction. In total, we supplied around 400 m2 of glass for interior fitting.
The new building, built in place of the building demolished along Torikatu, offers space for the Oulu District Court, the Northern Finland Administrative Court, the Oulu Regional Bailiff’s Office and the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Oulu, as well as the Rovaniemi Court of Appeal’s main proceedings in Oulu. In addition, the premises of the Legal Aid and Advocacy Offices and Migr will be added to the courthouse block. The facilities will be used by almost 400 staff members. In its press release, Senate Properties says that the space solutions support new ways of working and digitalisation. Safety, health and environmental considerations have also been taken into account in the design and construction. The move to the new premises will take place in early 2023.
